#DIGITECH GSP5 REVIEW FULL#
Actually, come to think of it, this is sort of what I was mentioning to builder recently, where I wanted a mix control to go from full on pitch vibrato to Chorus and all points in between.Īgain the ramping here is sort of an abrupt movement and I do see my self using it as much anyway as this mode would be best suited for adding subtle depth to a tone IMO or for capturing classic analog (though it is digital) chorus tones. Honestly I was not expecting much use of this mode, but after messing with it, it might be the best thing this pedal has going, and it alone would be reason enough to keep it. Full on vibrato and no dry gives you all the sea sick pitch vibrato you could want. Backing off the mix, and the depth can give a very nice sense of movement to notes and chords without really coloring the tone, sort of like a subtle bigsby wigggle. It is more or less a pitch vibrato, but with a bit of the lopsided cycles of a univibe, though with the mix control you can blend in some dry and get a very nice and usable chorus tone, actually, one of the better chorus tones I have heard.

Modern Mode - this is the real charmer on the pedal, and that was unexpected. YOu just cant get the feel of the throb at a low volume, when I get a chance I will try it at a more stage appropriate volume.

I dont see myself using the ramp function in this mode though, so I am okay with it.įor tone I feel like the pedal at gig volume would be much better than at the quiet volume I tested it at. The fast is not adjustable, it is basically the sound of the pedal with the speed knob all the way up. The ramping function in this mode is okay, nothing special, I feel like it doesn't ramp so much as basically switch from low speed to fast, pretty quickly. Using the drive knob helps to cop that sort of hot amp tone. I mostly am looking for a slow univibe sound, which is easy enough to dial in, with all the other controls at noon and the speed around 10 or 11 o-clock, I can get a very nice hendrix/trower thing going on. Vintage mode - typical univibe sound, I feel like it gets a nice throb, maybe not the best univibe sound I have heard, but there is a lot of tweeking you can do with the depth and mix knobs, which are sort of interactive, I suspect that with some experimentation I can get what I want out of it. First, the build quality seems excellent, the pots all turn smoothly with a nice resistance, the metal case seems solid and sturdy, I really did not have any concerns, it is a quality build.
